CLOPAY Residential Garage Door Bottom EPDM Rubber Weather Seal 18-ft.

Replace the worn or cracked weather seal on your 17-ft. wide CLO-400 Clopay residential steel garage door with this 18-ft. long Clopay weather seal from Garage Door Supply Company. This O-shaped weather seal is uniquely designed for single-channel Clopay garage doors. It arrives flat. When folded, and the L-shaped legs are installed on the Clopay garage door bottom retainer, the result is a 1 1/4-in. bulb that creates a weatherproof seal, accommodating even garage floors that are uneven.

By sealing out winter and summer drafts, storm water runoff, pests and dust, you'll save money on energy bills and also prevent costly damage to the contents of your garage. The black seal is made of EPDM synthetic rubber that will stand up to below-freezing temperatures and heat as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Always make sure the weather seal you order is 1 ft. longer than the width of your garage door to account for any shrinkage and to accommodate the cutting-to-fit process.

Installation Instructions for "Bulb" Shaped Astragal:

1. Raise door to open position. Place “C” clamps in both tracks directly below the door and tighten.
2. Remove old weather seal from the bottom of the door section. It may be necessary to remove screws holding weather seal to the retainer.
3. Make a bulb shape from the flat strip of weather seal by curling the ends together. The top of the bulb will resemble a “T”.
4. Insert “T” shape into retainer slot. See Fig 3. Slide the weather seal across the length of the door. NOTE: The weather seal will slide through the retainer slot easier if soapy water is applied.
5. Cut off excess weather seal flush leaving two extra inches from the edge of the door. Tuck extra weather seal into itself to allow for future shrinkage. If any screws were removed, replace now.
