Residential Garage Door Bottom EPDM Rubber Weather Seal by Clopay 16-ft.
Part Number: V2131-BK-W-16
Clopay V2131-BK-W-16

Clopay garage door bottom weather seal from Garage Door Supply Company is designed for use with Clopay residential steel garage doors. This Clopay CLO-400 weather seal (part number V2131-BK-W-16) is 16 ft. long to fit 15-ft. doors. The extra foot is added to account for shrinkage and cutting the seal to fit. When installed, the 4-in. wide flat weather strip becomes bulb-shaped to create a seal, even over uneven garage floors.

The 1 1/4-in. bulb that forms after the L-shaped legs is inserted onto the single-channel Clopay garage door bottom track to weatherproof your garage, helping you save on energy bills. This seal also blocks the entry of rodents, pests and blowing dust. It's made of black EPDM synthetic rubber to stand up to temperatures as low as minus-50 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit. To find out if it's time to replace your Clopay weather seal, feel along the seal to learn if it has become hard and brittle, or if it already has cracks.

Installation Instructions for "Bulb" Shaped Astragal:
  1. Raise door to open position. Place “C” clamps in both tracks directly below the door and tighten.
  2. Remove old weather seal from the bottom of the door section. It may be necessary to remove screws holding weather seal to the retainer.
  3. Make a bulb shape from the flat strip of weather seal by curling the ends together. The top of the bulb will resemble a “T”.
  4. Insert “T” shape into retainer slot. See Fig 3. Slide the weather seal across the length of the door. NOTE: The weather seal will slide through the retainer slot easier if soapy water is applied.
  5. Cut off excess weather seal flush leaving two extra inches from the edge of the door. Tuck extra weather seal into itself to allow for future shrinkage. If any screws were removed, replace now.
